American Eskimo Dogs (Eskies)
Ronda's Mister Winter and Ronda's Stormy April are our Eskies. Both are dual registered with AKC and UKC and both have champion bloodlines in the two registries. The parents of Winter and Stormy have been tested for PRA and are clear. Stormy and Winter have also been tested clear for PRA.
The American Eskimo Dog (Eskie) is one of the most beautiful breeds of dogs. Eskies have a thick sparkling white or biscuit cream double coat and a beautiful tail that curls over the back in a plume of hairs. The black eyes, nose, and lips contrast well with the white coat, white eyelashes, and white toenails to help bring out the beauty of the breed. The American Eskimo Dog is a very healthy breed. Eskies are very intelligent and agile dogs, easy to train, and filled with the desire to please their owners. The American Eskimo Dog comes in three sizes, toy, miniature, and standard. Ours are miniature sized and normally stand 12-15 inches tall. Eskies are very loyal family members, although often wary of strangers. The American Eskimo Dog's white fur has a natural tendency to stay clean. The oils in the fur allow dirt to fall off when dry. Frequent bathing is not necessary. Although the breed sheds year round, with weekly brushing we have not found shedding to be much of a problem. Eskies normally do not get the "doggy" smell that some breeds have.
Our American Eskimo Dogs get plenty of exercise, human interaction, and time to run and play. Our dogs are handled, played with, and treated as family members from the day they are born until the day they leave for their new loving homes. They are fed high quality puppy or dog food, given dietary supplements to promote optimal health, and are provided with all necessary veterinary care. We have genetically tested our American Eskimo Dogs for PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) which is a genetic disease often affecting American Eskimo Dogs which causes blindness at an early age. Our breeding stock has tested clear of PRA and threfore puppies we produce will not be affected by the disease. All of our puppies come to you up to date on proper vaccinations and worming. They are sold with a health guarantee.
